twodo
AI document intake for NZ physio & podiatry clinics

Every ACC referral read, checked and chased.

Referrals arrive by email and fax, and someone on reception has to read each one, check it's got what ACC needs, and chase the GP when it doesn't — and the one that slips costs you a booking. twodo does all of that the minute a document lands. Built for NZ physio, podiatry and allied health on Cliniko and Gensolve.

Human in the loop · audit trail on everything · built for the Privacy Act 2020 & the HIPC

Try it right now

Watch it read one

Click a sample referral — or drop in a PDF, even a photo of a paper one — and watch twodo highlight what matters, right on the document. Hover a field to see exactly where it came from. Processed in memory, stored nowhere. Please don't use real patient details here.

The extraction lands here — every field linked to the exact phrase it came from.
The math

What does a lost referral actually cost?

A referral that sits in the inbox for four days often never becomes a booking — the patient rings somewhere else, or the GP resends it to a clinic that answered. If just 1 in 10 slips through, count yours.

Your leak

You're leaking roughly

$2,080/month

— before follow-up visits. And that's beside the ~29 hours a month your team spends sorting, retyping and chasing the ones that do get booked.

How it works

Three steps. No new habits.

01

Forward your inbox

Your practice gets one twodo address. Reception forwards referrals to it — or sets an auto-forward rule once — and faxes arrive via fax-to-email. No IT project, nothing to install.

02

twodo reads, matches, chases

Every document is read and matched to the right patient — you can see exactly where on the page each detail came from. Incomplete referral? A request to the GP is drafted the same minute, and their reply attaches itself.

03

The patient books

Complete and funded, the patient gets a booking link by text within the hour — straight into Cliniko or Gensolve. No reply? A nudge at 48h, a task for your team at day 7. Nothing slips.

Built for clinical documents

Careful by design, not by disclaimer

Nothing files without a trail

Every automated action — read, matched, chased, booked — is written to an audit trail with who, what, when and why. Anything twodo isn't certain about goes to your review queue, not into a patient record.

See where every field came from

Hover any extracted detail — NHI, DOB, claim number — and twodo highlights the exact spot on the original document it was read from. Trust isn't “the AI said so”; it's seeing it on the page.

Urgent never waits in a queue

Suspected-cancer and red-flag referrals jump the queue on arrival with a 4-hour action clock. The rules deliberately over-flag — a false alarm beats a two-week-wait referral sitting unread until Thursday.

twodo is built in New Zealand by one founder who does every setup himself — on your real referrals, at your front desk if you're local. Now onboarding a handful of founding practices, hands-on.

The fine print, up front

No tricks in the small text

Your PMS stays the source of truth

twodo never overwrites a clinical record. Bookings write into your calendar; everything else queues for a human yes, with an audit trail and an undo. If you disconnect tomorrow, your PMS is exactly as your team left it.

A human is always in the loop

Only exact-identity matches file automatically. Near-matches are a one-click confirm; anything ambiguous waits in the review queue with the original document alongside. The review queue isn't a fallback — it's the product.

NZ health privacy, by design

Built for the Privacy Act 2020 and the Health Information Privacy Code. Documents are encrypted in transit and at rest — original documents sit in Australian data centres today, with the rest of our hosting moving to Australia as we complete the migration. NHIs never appear in links or logs, and your documents are never used to train AI models.

Patients and GPs always know who's talking

Booking texts come from your practice, say so plainly, and every message template is yours to approve. The missing-info emails to referrers are drafted for your team — one click to review, one to send.

FAQ

Fair questions

How do documents actually get in?

Your practice gets its own twodo email address. Reception forwards referrals to it — or sets a one-time auto-forward rule — and fax lands the same way via fax-to-email. Drag-and-drop works too. There's no IT project and nothing to install.

What if it matches a document to the wrong patient?

It won't guess. Only exact-identity matches (like an NHI) file automatically; near-matches become a one-click confirm for your team, and anything ambiguous goes to a review queue with the original document side by side. Our shipped accuracy bar is zero wrong-patient filings — a wrong match is a clinical incident, and we treat it that way.

What happens with scanned faxes and bad photocopies?

If twodo can't read a document confidently, it lands in the review queue exactly as it arrived — flagged, never guessed into a patient record. Your team handles it the old way and twodo learns from the correction.

Does it write into our PMS?

Bookings write straight into Cliniko and Gensolve today; document filing into the record is on the roadmap and will be built with our pilot practices. Without a PMS connection you still get the full sorted queue, patient matching, chasing, and a task list — your PMS always stays the source of truth.

Is patient data safe?

Documents are encrypted in transit and at rest — originals are stored in Australian data centres today, and we're moving the rest of our hosting to Australia as we complete the migration. Every automated document action is written to an audit trail you can inspect, NHIs never appear in links or logs, and your documents are never used to train AI models. Built for the Privacy Act 2020 and the Health Information Privacy Code.
